FAQ's
What is Yoshi's about?
Yoshi's is a Middle-Eastern restaurant that brings a home-cooking taste to the Ann Arbor community. Everything we make, we make from scratch (Yes, which includes boiling our chick peas for our hummus and pickling our own vegetables).
Where did you get the name “Yoshi's” because it doesn't sound Middle-Eastern?
“Yoshi” is the nickname of the owner of the restaurant. When the owner and his family were trying to find a name for the business, they settled on Yoshi because it seemed like a fun name.
When are you planning a grand opening?
Our grand opening will be September 8, 2009 – September 15, 2009. We have been open since July 6 only to perfect our operation and train our staff properly.
Do you deliver?
As of right now, we do not deliver. We will deliver once we have our in-house operations set and that should be during the fall season.
Do you offer student discounts?
Yes we do, 10% off your entire order!
Why are you using Styrofoam containers?
We understand that Styrofoam containers are not efficient to serve food in, it is for this reason we will have plates and silverware for our customers within the next 2 months. Due to the building codes, we were not allowed a dishwashing machine without installing a separate ventilation system. We have inquired about installing a low-temp washing machine that does not require any sort of ventilation system, but the building codes in the city of Ann Arbor would not allow that either.
Why did it take so long for you to open?
We needed to make many changes to the two spaces we took over and the building itself. We are happy to announce that the building has met all health and safety requirements.
Do you have WIFI?
Yes, we do!
Are you hiring?
